If anyone doesn’t know about, or isn’t using the energy.co.za site in Cape Town, then I highly recommend it. (the site says for South Peninsula and Old Cape Town City Council so not sure if there are other similar sites for the rest of South Africa?)
I glanced at my electricity a few minutes ago, and it was at 0.1 - I had forgotten to top it up.
Racing to my laptop, I went to the energy.co.za site which I am pre-registered with and which I’ve used to buy electricity for the last year (no more 3am trips to the corner cafe when the DVD suddenly ends as the electricity runs out!).
It took 20 seconds to log in, select a top up, and receive the SMS with the top-up code. And I plugged in the number into the electricity box before the 0.1 had time to change switching off everything in my apartment!!
Once you’ve registered with energy.co.za you can also use your cell phone to buy, and there isn’t any charge for buying on the net or your cell.
energy.co.za should be a MUST for anyone who buys electricity on prepaid!!

Interesting, I thought of doing this way back in 2005 I think, but didn’t have the man power to execute it, I reckon I still have the design I did and everything lying around on a flash card
Hope things are well your side, am very bleak I cannot make openCoffee on Wed, damn exams :/
