A close friend of mine, (who will remain nameless, unless he / she asks me for a link back, in which case i’ll edit and disclose!) is the MASTER of SPIN, HYPE, PR, MEDIA FRENZY.
They know how to get people excited about their products launches, and it’s a BEAUTIFUL CIRCLE (far better than a vicious circle). The more they speak about their product, the more people get involved, until it is self fulfilling - that is, the product gets enough attention for them to be able to move onto their next project.
So i’m trying an experiment - i’m hyping up a blog i’m having a great deal of fun with dealing with the upcoming Idols in South Africa - Idols 4
Idols4.co.za launched last night and I’ve done the following so far:
1. Added it to Afrigator and Amatomu (it’s currently number 444 in the Amatomu rankings)
2. Set up a group in Facebook for it called “Idols 4”
Usually I have to be serious with my projects, but this one is purely for fun, so as Max “break through to the other side” Kaizen often says “Test the boundary’s“.
Those boundary’s are going to have to be IRON CLAD on this one!!!
Let me see if the Hype Master has taught me anything!!!Â

I must admit, I had a good laugh when you first told me about this, but now that I have seen it in action, I am watching with baited breath to see how things take course, and whether the traffic will be phenomenal
Good luck Eric!

Here’s another challenge: get into the Technorati Top 100,000 blogs. We already have about 50 SA blogs that are there, and with your potential audience, I think it’s more than possible. Mind you, you will need quite a jump from your current ranking of about 3.5 million :-)But I have a feeling you’ll be there within the month

I just checked out the idols4.co.za ranking on Technorati - currently:
Rank: 3,764,980
But all it seems to take is to get 50 or so sites to link to you and you make the top 100K on Technorati!!!
