I spent the night @ the GeekDinner at a restaurant in the Waterfront meeting some fascinating guys who made me appreciate that my programming skills probably don’t deserve to be labelled skills or programming!
These boyz are Tech Hardcore!
Although I pleaded for a Rubix cube that Henk dropped off, for a change I hadn’t jumped behind the Mic, and I was put in my place and told that Rubix Cubes were only for speakers. I tried to explain to the GeekDinner organisers that I had spoken to Alan Levin plenty, but those 27 interlinking blocks were not to be mine.
Earlier in the evening, I had seen a guy on the other side of the room wearing a Tshirt that looked like eSquared. So after the crowds had left the GeekDinner, I made my way across the room, and asked the guy where he had bought the Tshirt from?
From this awesome shop somewhere in Sea Point.
After chatting to the guy for a few minutes, it turns out that he lives in Scarborough and that he had wandered through Sea Point awhile back, and found our clothing shop! What a small world!
Ryan - glad you like eSquared and thanks for making my night. Send me your address, and I’ll send you one of our Tshirts from our new online store eTshirts.co.za (live but not live!) 2 thank u for a brilliant end 2 a Great GeekDinner.
PS: The Title is in honour of Tania who spent the night entertaining us with quotes from those “Socks in the Box” books… Your Move, Tania!
PPS: I’m glad I took the trouble to park my car in the garage - It’s just been HAILING!!!
