It’s been 2 years since we set up the eSquared clothing company, and although I wasn’t very involved in the company in the early stages, preferring to sit on the sidelines and watch it grow, I found the business fascinating and steadily became more and more involved.

I’m now excited to announce that I’ve accepted the role of CEO.

As many of you know, my last 8 years have been involved in the Internet world and Internet ventures, and although I love the eSquared shops and spend many a hour lounging on the couches while drinking cappachino’s with my laptop windows flying, I believe the future needs to incorporate an element of online in nearly every offline business.

So for the last few months we’ve been debating, discussing, arguing, and strategising around what will take eSquared from a 2 shop + freshly launched “lets test eCommerce in South Africa” business to a business that has legs!

I’ve been working for the last few months with some super smart people hammering a business plan into shape that incorporates an online “2.0″ strategy along with the expansion of the offline shops, and the launch of a wholesale division, and some incredible developers that are working on implementing the dream.

The Internet site will be launching on the 15th December and 2 new “showrooms” will be launching in the first half of next year.

I’ll be updating the progress of the eSquared expansion on a regular basis. Details of our next round of funding will be announced shortly - I don’t want to say too much about it now, except to say that we want as many shareholders as possible, and so am setting the minimum investment VERY LOW.
