I strongly believe that Internet Visionary’s need to understand the different areas of the net, otherwise it is impossible for them to add maximum value. In addition to spending large amounts of time researching new trends, and debating and discussing on the various forums and message boards, I run a number of small web projects myself, which allows me to keep my knowledge on the cutting edge.
So I still have a few select (and favourite) clients, and personal websites, which I get personally involved in. I get innovative in all areas of generating maximum traffic to the sites, and still PERSONALLY:
- Manage the Search Engine Marketing Campaigns
SEO (so we get lots of Free traffic from the Search Engines)
Pay for the right words on the right search engines with effective PPC campaigns
- Manage the email marketing campaigns
- Devise Viral Marketing Campaigns
- Constantly try new cutting edge internet marketing techniques (does your company have a blog?)
And there’s no point generating traffic to a site, unless you know the objective for the site, and whether the traffic is meeting the objective.
The objective for a site which is trying to arbitrage google traffic has a very different objective to a site selling high ticket items, which has a very different objective to a site that is looking to build up their community, hoping they will self generate traffic once it reaches the critical mass.
Strategy, and funding are essential, but unless the site gets the visitors, and those visitors perform the sites required objectives, the business is not going to work.
