email marketing is one of the most powerful tools if done right.
Unfortunately there are too many guys that have messed around in the email marketing industry, buying emails off list brokers, and harvesting emails from the net.
But using email can be one of the most cost efficient ways of getting traffic and the results can be incredible.
There are a couple things to know about email marketing…
If you are building an inhouse list there is acquisition and retention.
Acquisition is getting the mails in the first place.
Retention is communicating with those people once they have signed up to hear from you.
You can also use someone else’s list to send out your offers - either a solo mail where the entire email is your offer, or just a few lines in someone else’s newsletter.
You also need to decide whether to use a email list manager to send out your emails or do it inhouse - sending out your emails is called “email broadcast”
The thing to keep in mind with email broadcasting is that you don’t want the emails you send out to go to people’s spam filters or trash folders. And some of the bigger email company’s seem to have found a way of your emails getting through to your subscribers.
If you get your email marketing right, you’ll have a large number of people that have asked to hear from you on a regular basis, your emails will be getting through to them, and they’ll result in some sort of action - such as clicking through to your website, calling you, or buying something from you.
